Gifts

We have had some inquiries about gifts, and to tell you the truth, we do have a lot of stuff in our lives already and are are very fortunate in this way. We are also simply grateful to have you come and join us for this special occasion, and look forward to spending time with you. This is certainly enough.

However, we also want to honor the rite of giving as well as receiving, and in so doing we offer the following options for gifts:

~Make a donation to our EcoHome Renovation Fund: Help us remodel our home with ecofriendly materials-earthen plasters, bamboo flooring, energy efficient furnace and greenhouse addition. This is an ongoing project of ours that always welcomes extra funding!!

~Make a donation to the Kondwa Children's Foundation's Braille Printer Project: Imagine that you are visually impaired, living in an impoverished area with few monetary resources, and have little access to education. How would you learn to protect yourself from HIV/AIDS? Leah is on the board of the KCF and has spearheaded this fundraising project to purchase a braille printer for an organization in Zambia dedicated to providing educational materials about HIV to the visually impaired. $3,000 has already been raised through a grant from the Tides Foundation, and the hope is to match these funds by mid October. Other than that, we suggest you

~Buy locally: handmade items or items sold by local buisinesses are how we generally like to shop (though we have made exceptions for some of the items posted on our registry for ease of convenience or lack of other consumer options here in Flagstaff), and we suggest that you do the same in your town or ours.

Better yet, give us something you've made yourself! We will cherish it for a long time because it's from you!
